FINAL HOLES AND BUILDINGS AVAILABLE [october 6th, 2002]
Time to call it a course! After some major construction delays and a strike by the turf-layers union, holes 61-86 have been officially completed just in time for the cooler season - good thing this course has heat lamps throughout. The main entrance building & parking, souvenir shop, coffee shop, sushi cafe, reststop and fillers are also now available. Three custom prop-hole souvenirs by berserk+dullemond, along with some of fredfree's big ball props and details [see pics at left], are now stocked right here in the shop as well for those wishing to pursue more mini-golf madness on their own. Finally, don't forget to take in the view of the completed course in Southwest Freeland, but please allow for time for the substantial picture to load.

LET THE SMURF PARTY BEGIN! 24 NEW HOLES! [august 1st, 2002]
That's right - it's time for the course withn the course - Mimita's Smurf Golf is up and running. This collaborative effort is worth the time it will take for the picture to arrive on your screen and worth the time to download the 16 landmarks - that's sixteen tiles created by five designers all flawlessly connected together in a smurfalicious fantasy land of mini-golf merriment. Kudos to mimita for her tireless smurf-o-vision and to her four smurfettes - weffito, vanderaap, dullemond and bzrburns! Head over to the Smurf Course now, sit back and enjoy the view - have a cup of coffee while you wait too - it's on mimita.

HOLES 20 THROUGH 36 ARE READY TO PLAY [july 28th, 2002]
These next 17 holes include some long walks and steep hills [nothing new], so bring your hiking shoes and throw out the scorecards while you're at it, because par for these holes is too high to count. Thirty-six down and ??? to go. Link at left.

MORE TURF PAINTS [july 16th, 2002]
Another set of turf paints by dullemond is ready: some variations on the angled/curved themes already available at the shop here. Grab em here.

MORE MINI-GOLFERS [july 15th, 2002]
Six new mini-golfers have shown up to play at our growing course [up to 29 holes as of today], once again thanks to dullemond - picture at left. Download the little guys and gals here.

CURVED PAINTS - PART TWO  [july 13th, 2002]
A second batch of curved turf paints is ready - this time the outer curved sections - thanks again goes to Dullemond for her continued efforts to bring us the best variety of turf for our Mini-Golf Holes. Download them here.

CURVED PAINTS [july 10th,2002]
Dullemond has thrown in some curves to the straight and angled collection of turf paints. Download them here and we'll guarantee that once used in your designs, you'll see at least three strokes taken off your mini-game or your money back!

ANGLED TURF PAINTS & SIGNS [july 2nd, 2002]
Couchpotato has taken the previously offered turf paints and skewed them, allowing greater flexibility in hole layouts - download them here. Also available today are some "Freeland MiniGolf" sign details by v-apps - see pics at left for both updates.

THE FIRST 19 HOLES AVAILABLE [june 30th 2002]
If you have been following the construction progress in the forum, you are have seen the first 19 holes - well now you can download them and start creating your own minigolf course. The project lasts all Summer, so many more holes will be built as well as a number of infill pieces - from restaurants to landscaped areas - but why not get started with the course construction now. At the end of the project we will vote on our favorite course designs. One final note - although the holes are numbered, there is no reason why number 12 can't go next to number 3 if your design works better that way! Have Fun - of Course!

SMURFS [june 30th, 2002]
Everyone in the Minigolf SimWorld is abuzz about the Big Smurf Hole being constructed - meanwhile some of the smurfs involved with the project have escaped and are available now! [see pic at left]

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE & DOWNLOADS [june 21st, 2002]
Twelve holes have now been constructed and can be viewed within the Special Section in the Freeland Forum. New props now available: a set of mini mini-golfers by bzrburns and a mini-golf hole and flag combination by artaxis for those of you looking to mimic the big links - both shown at left.

CONSTRUCTION BEGINS [june 1st, 2002]
The exact site within the City of Freeland for locating the potentially mamouth miniature golf course is still up in the air, but work has begun on some of the prefab parts that will make up much of the course, including an experimental astroturf/border combination called "Murf-Turf".  The first hole to use the stuff is a practice green called "Rotating Fred" [shown at left].  Although mini-testers found the turf to be of excellent quality, there were some problems with the Big Fred not rotating fast enough - but that is a different matter. If you would like to get started on creating some holes and would like to use Murf-Turf, click here. Included with your package are some free balls and holes to be placed in your custom details folder - remember to place the turf in your custom paints folder.
