The Erwtensoep FVC Construction on the satellite Visitors Center in the Erwtensoep District was completed on April 3rd, 2002. Designed by local Erwtensoep resident and shop owner, Vanderaap, the new structure looks to complement the Dutch architectural influences found throughout the District, while the renovation of the existing commercial block seeks to preserve its 1970s modernistic look. Together, the waterfront revival committee hopes to bring back both tourists and business interests - both of which have been missing from the waterfront area for almost twenty years. Surroundng new construction is evidence that this effort is on track for success. See below to download a souvenir copy of the facility and custom items.
The Civic District FVC Construction on the main Visitors Center in the Civic District was completed on April 13th, 2002. The former and historic gelatin factory at the edge of the original Freeland industrial zone, has been restored to it's original look in most cases, but at the same time has been infused with new life in the form of many modern conveniences like money machines and exchange office, ticket sales booths for every attraction and show in town, a lodging and restaurant locator, an FVC tourbus station, an automat-cafe, a souvenir shop, a mini i-maxi theater, a history gallery and a guide to city services - all tied together by a shady plaza oasis.
