Freeland Loves Halloween! Over the next few days leading up to October 31st, we will be wandering around our spooky city digging up any and all things creepy and bringing them right to you..... Joe Bird's Castle This eerie castle is located in the swamps out by the airport and was originally opened as a tourist attraction and souvenir shop for jetsetters just passing through town. When runway B13 was constructed all access was cutoff and as a result the castle closed and fell into disrepair. Since then, the boggy waters of the maxwell swamps have risen and surrounded Joe Bird's. Legend has it that the fake moon that rises above the old pile of stones and abandoned tourist trinkets, renders the radar of passing planes useless on certain Fridays and of course, every Halloween. by joe bird/bzrburns [Landmark] |
